The π standard

Through their European industry association CECED, European manufacturers of household appliances have launched the "Π-project" initiative. The initiative introduces a standard structure for product information. This "Π-Certified" information will help retailers to take full advantage of electronic communication and data processing, as the Internet and ICT are fundamentally changing how products and services are offered, bought, and sold. As of 1 February 2016, CECED/PI has published Service Pack 15.3. A key change in this new version of the PI Standard is the introduction of the mandatory use of the new Energy Labels for water heaters. In addition, three new Product Groups have been introduced or extended significantly: cleaning robot, rotary ironer and steam ironing system.
